Nature Experience Holdamoos
The Nature Experience Holdamoos includes a herb garden that impresses with its colors, scents and hidden powers. Today, as in the past, these plants are used for the health of humans and animals. Around the hut and the lake there are well-maintained walking paths, an adventurous suspension bridge over the gorge and a signposted nature and agriculture trail.

The centerpiece of the "Nature Experience Holdamoos" is a 440-year-old pasture hut that was saved from being sold and demolished. It was dismantled in the Vorderhopfreben pasture in the autumn of 2000 and rebuilt in the "Holdamoos" in the Lebernau pasture in the spring of 2002. House researchers have determined that the hut was built in 1582 using dendrochronological studies. The wood dates from 1579/1581. The hut has been preserved in its original state, as hardly any changes have been made in the last decades and centuries. The Vorsäßhütte has a kitchen, living room, Gaden (bedroom), stable, loft (open veranda), hayloft and goat stable. The condition and furnishings show the effort to create this originality.

The herb garden in the Holdamoos nature experience is known far beyond the borders and impresses with its colors, scents and hidden powers. On a wind-protected hill with a dense fringe of trees and bushes, a wealth of old, traditional medicinal herbs and spices grow, all of which are native to the region. They are labeled with their German and Latin names and assigned to the respective plant family. Locations: heat-loving aromatic herbs grow on a natural stone wall, there is a sunny and shady bed as well as an alpine plant bed and a garden herb spiral. Today, as in the past, these plants are used for the health of humans and animals. The herb garden is lovingly cared for by 20 enthusiastic herbalists from Au-Schoppernau and can be visited at any time.

Around the hut and the lake there are well-maintained walking paths, a wobbly bridge or the steeply sloping "Jücklar", a mystical hazelnut place, a special place of peace and relaxation, a refreshing fountain and a signposted nature and agriculture trail.

In the summer, there is a nature and herb hike with Magdalena for children on Wednesdays from the Rehmen church to Holdamoos. Our 4-year-old was absolutely thrilled and we also learned a lot.
