Hello, dear Arctic Sea friends,
Brazil, California, and Schönberger Strand are known to be excellent beaches for surf fishing. With perfect weather, but conditions more like a duck pond, I headed to Heidkate for the first time in a long time to fish this wonderful groyne beach.
Heidkate belongs to the municipality of Wisch in the Plön district and is located about 15 km northeast of Kiel.
From autumn through spring, you can catch very good flatfish and sea trout there, and seasonally, you can also catch good garfish.

A few meters further out, the pure sandy bottom transitions to mixed bottom, where the water depth is approximately 3 m, which is where large flatfish prefer to hang out.
With an onshore wind, good catches are possible even at a casting distance of 60 m.
