Lake Valzurio, also known as Laghetto d’Ogna, is a hidden gem of the Seriana Valley, located in the municipality of Oltressenda Alta, near Villa d’Ogna. This alpine lake is famous for its turquoise waters, due to the minerals transported by the Ogna stream, which descends from the Presolana glaciers.

Characteristics of Lake Valzurio
Altitude: About 1,200 meters above sea level.

Accessibility: The lake can be reached with an easy hike from Oltressenda Alta, with a difference in altitude of about 160 meters and a route of 1.5 km.

Natural environment: Surrounded by woods and mountains, it offers a suggestive panorama and an atmosphere of tranquility.

Trails: The route crosses two small dams, metal staircases and wooded sections before reaching the lake.

Excursions and activities
Lake Valzurio is a perfect destination for trekking and nature lovers. You can start from Villa d’Ogna and follow the path that leads to the Ogna lakes, a hike much appreciated for its scenic beauty. In addition, the area offers routes to the Rino Olmo Refuge, ideal for those who want to continue the adventure in the high mountains

Muddy water, many insects. Once you get to the lake, the path is completely lost: on one side it enters the thick of the forest with weeds that make it impossible to move forward, on the other hand it comes dangerously close to the landslide shores of the lake.
