The young team of tenants of the Fischerhütte spoils the guests' palates and makes an overnight stay at 2,049 meters an experience! From here it is not far to the peaks of the Schneeberg. For the winter, Grödeln (so-called snow chains for the shoes) are compulsory and crampons are an advantage.

When choosing the route, make sure that you suit your experience and level of fitness. Find out about the weather forecast in advance. The weather can change surprisingly in the mountains. Therefore, always go equipped accordingly (e.g. rain protection).

The Fischerhütte at 2,049 meters altitude is Lower Austria's highest refuge and only a few steps from the highest point of the country, the monastery coat of arms (2.076m). Lower Austria's summit of hospitality is easier to reach than might be expected: 60 tight or 80 comfortable minutes separate it from the top station of the Schneebergbahn. If you like it challenging, choose the 1,482 altitude difference from the Weichtalhaus in Höllental between Schneeberg and Rax. An incomparable panoramic view and an appealing kitchen on the fisherman's hut reward the visitor.

The Fischerhütte (2,049 m) is located on the high plateau of the Schneeberg in the Rax-Schneeberg group on the Kaiserstein. It has great panoramic views and on a perfect day, you can see as far as Vienna.
