    Thirty-six steles stand on the path around the Diepholz Castle - each one with a very special connection to Diepholz and its history.Stelen

    The idea for this was brought to the home club by the Diepholz family Werner and Hedda Zeeb. During a visit to Herksheim in southern Palatinate, the Zeebs noticed the city's beautiful stele park - photos were taken and sent to the home club. He was immediately convinced - and drove to Herksheim to see the steles for himself.

    Planning began in spring 2006. A working group was set up, costs were calculated and possible subject areas for the steles were researched.

    The conceptual idea, the design and the technical development came from the German designer Martin Metz, who also owns the copyright and the design protection.

    Some Diepholz companies - Schöma, Elastogran, U.Walter as well as some Diepholz clubs - are each sponsoring a wooden stele. A showcase is installed in each of the steles - visitors can find information about the city here.

    Ten steles with ten themes: the origin of the name "Diepholz", the granting of city rights, the witch trials of the 17th century, the persecution of the Jews, immigration, industrialisation, boardwalks, peat cutting and of course the Diepholz goose.
