The cycling route along the Río Chíllar between Playa Río Chíllar and Playa El Cucho runs along the coast near Nerja. This route connects two beaches and partially follows the Chíllar River. This route is particularly beautiful because of the combination of sea views, river landscapes and mountains in the background. It is suitable for leisure cyclists, but can be made more challenging by taking detours into the hinterland.

The Río Chillar between Playa El Chucho and Playa Río Chillar is marked with a trail on Komoot. At least in April this is not possible, as the water is too high and fast. But a great bike trail follows the river all the way to the north end of town, and halfway up is the bridge with the coastal highway.
