The path through the Meseta can be very strenuous in summer when the sun shines relentlessly on the pilgrim, any tree that casts a shade is then welcome. Under no circumstances should you be out and about without a sufficient water supply!

It depends on the time of day when you go this route. When the sun is blazing, it's a difficult path. You should have enough to drink with you.
