The mountain lodge Leirvassbu in Jotunheimen is idyllically situated at 1400 meters above sea level on the Leirvatnet, directly below the characteristic mountain Kyrkja. The hut is an excellent starting point for mountain hikes with many 2000 meters of mountains right outside the door, summit ascents, glacier tours, glacier courses, cooking classes, spring skiing, climbing and fishing in the surrounding mountain lakes.

Leirvassbu has been a center for mountain hiking since the construction of the first stone hut in Leirvatnet in 1875. Today Leirvassbu is a large mountain lodge with 190 beds (60 with shower and toilet in the room).
The mountain accommodation is intended primarily for hikers. A simple breakfast is served and if you want you can make sandwiches on the go and refill your thermos. In the evening, a shared hot meal is served. At the bar you can buy beer, wine and brandy. The reception is selling kiosk goods and is open all day.
