            The bishop's mill was first mentioned in 1551, named after its first owner, Lorentz Bischoff. In the 17th century the mill was also called "Schößelmühl" after a subsequent owner named Schößel. She had the right to grind, cut wood and "pleuen", i.e. press oil. During the Thirty Years' War, especially in the years 1632-35, the mill suffered greatly. The cutting volume was rather modest at all times. In 1850 it was given as 70 cubic fathoms. The grinding mill has been idle since 1964, and until recently sawing was done electrically. Today, the mill is a well-visited inn with excellent cuisine, guest rooms and is known throughout Germany as a hotspot among mountain bikers because of the nearby Döbraberg mountain bike center.

                A very pleasant ambiance and a quiet location make this place special.
