This small hilltop viewpoint overlooks Port Phillip Bay and the beautiful surrounding coastline. The grassy rise offers wide views of the bay and nearby beaches, making it a popular stop for walkers and cyclists on the Bay Trail. The area now known as Point Ormond was originally called Red Bluff in 1839 and a quarantine station was established there in 1840. Red Bluff was leveled in 1906 and used to fill in the swampy areas of Elwood.
