The oldest inn in Lauffens, built in 1677 on a vaulted cellar from the late 15th century. Owned by the Moser bakery family since 1715. In 1861 it was given the name "Sun".

The "Sonne" wine bar is located in a prominent place in Lauffen town and its exposed half-timbered facade makes an impressive impression on the surrounding townscape.

After the construction of the Old Neckar Bridge in 1474, the first houses were built here down to the banks of the Neckar. The "Sonne" is thus located in a later part of the town, built between the castle from the 11th century and the medieval, walled old town area. The current half-timbered building was built in 1677 on the vaulted cellar of a previous building. The notches with holes in the wooden beams indicate that the wood was floated. Floated wood from the Black Forest was brought across the Neckar to Holland until rail transport began in the 19th century.

After the Sonne inn in Sonnengasse in the village on the opposite side of the Neckar was closed, the "new" Sonne was opened here in the town in 1861.

In 2004, the half-timbered house was purchased by the Lauffen a.N. winegrowers' cooperative and renovated with the support of the town. Since its opening in 2005, the historic wine bar has been open again.
