Here you can see a rather "wild" (or rather, highly energetic) area of the rocky coast at the northwest end of Weinheim Bay. Anyone who has walked this far will have certainly noticed that they are in a kind of basin. Perhaps one or two hikers have already taken a closer look at some of the stones – or rather, the 30-million-year-old solidified sea sand – along the way, because you can also spot oysters there. Unfortunately, the fence here keeps you quite far from the oyster beds. Nevertheless, the sign is very interesting. Those with binoculars will certainly have an advantage!

Rheinhessen coastal path - Weinheim Bay circular path

The Weinheim Bay circular route runs along the former coast. Due to the wealth of fossils, three natural monuments of worldwide importance are on the hiking trail.
One of them is the “Zeilstück” sand pit. This is best known for its high oyster deposits. A viewing platform offers a glimpse into the protected geotope.
