The Loreley (Lorelei) is an approximately 132 meter high slate rock in the Upper Middle Rhine Valley World Heritage Site near St.Goarshausen. The view from the viewpoint of the towns of St.Goarshausen with Katz Castle and the sister town of St.Goar with Rheinfels Castle is deeply impressive for all tourists.
At the Loreley (Lorelei) the Rhine is up to 25m deep and only 113m wide. Because this place is so narrow and deep, it is still one of the most dangerous in the world heritage today.
