Greatly situated pilgrimage church high above Luhe on the Koppelberg with a great view of the Feistelberg and the Naab valley.
The church was already mentioned in the 12th century. In 1376 the Archbishop of Prague Johann von Jenstein, Luhe belonged to Bohemia, gave this church the right to an indulgence, which became a reason for a pilgrimage.
In the course of Calvinism, which was introduced in Luhe in 1617, the church was broken open on May 30, 1617 and all pictures (St. Nikolaus, St. Gregorius) and statues were removed, so that only the stalls and empty altars remained in the church. However, since the Catholic Duke Maximilian defeated Elector Frederick V of the Palatinate in the Battle of White Mountain on November 8, 1621, Catholic services could again be held from this time on. The church was supplied with mass from the Franciscan monastery in Pfreimd. The church was again provisionally equipped with pictures and statues of saints.
After the turmoil of Calvinism and the Thirty Years' War, the church was demolished and rebuilt in 1696. It was repaired before the parish church in Luhe and used for worship. In order to accommodate the believers, two galleries were built one above the other. The year 1696 can still be read above the west portal.
