The easiest and most beautiful access from below starts from Stiefelhagen. Follow the closed road to the bend. There is a high fence there to protect the nature reserve from cyclists. At the left end of the fence is a viewing point with benches. From there you walk around the fence on a path and then follow it below the quarry. The last climb is made easier by steps and a railing. You can enjoy the beautiful view from the path.

If you want it to be even easier, start from Hollenberg: there is almost no incline here. In fact, the path mostly leads downhill. The tower is not at the highest point of the mountain range.

"The Haldy Tower is located in the Weinberg nature reserve. The 18-meter-high observation tower was built in 1903 by the citizens themselves from quarry stone as a thank you to the deserving District Administrator Haldy (District Administrator of the Gummersbach district from 1885-1899). Haldy was considered a modern and open-minded person who wanted to develop the Oberberg region with dams and railways early on. Ründeroth had a railway connection and a train station thanks to him as early as 1886. District Administrator Haldy, who lived at Haus Ley near Ründeroth, died unexpectedly in 1899. His grave in the community cemetery is still looked after by the Ründeroth Home and Beautification Association.
Over 96 steps lead up to the observation platform of the Haldy Tower. The reward is a beautiful view of the Agger Valley and across to the Much plateau. A few years ago, a mobile phone provider mounted its transmitter mast on the tower. Through clever negotiations, it was possible to achieve that this network operator financed a flagpole and the spotlights for the evening lighting of the Haldy Tower."
