Besides the historical background that inspired the architects of this tour, even for citizen of West Flanders (especially one of the cities along the traject) it is an amazing tour that proves that the region isn't that flat as we used to think. Every village has some small local 'hills', but traveling from one hill to another is quite impressive. If you do the trip during Covid-19, take enough drinks and some snacks in your Camelback.... and just enjoy the tour!

The Deutscher Soldatenfriedhof Hooglede is a military cemetery in the Belgian municipality of Hooglede. The cemetery is located in the east of the village center. There are 8,257 fallen German soldiers from the First World War.
It is one of the four major German cemeteries in Belgium, the others being in Vladslo, Menen and Langemark. In addition, there are also about 500 soldiers who fell during the First World War in Lommel.
