In 1245, the castle Lahneck is first mentioned in a document. It sits enthroned on the 164 meter high spur of rock above the Lahn river. From March to November, guided tours of the walls take place from Tuesday to Sunday several times a day (at 12, 13, 14 and 15 o'clock). During such a tour you will learn what the castle has to do with the Knights Templar, Goethe and the tragic death of a Scottish tourist. Adults pay 6 euros for a guided tour. Occasionally, candlelight tours are also offered. For detailed information, call in advance at 02621/914172.

In the Burgschänke you can take a break and enjoy the view of the Rhine and Lahn with a piece of cake. On Mondays, the restaurant is closed.
