          “The pearl of the region, beautifully situated on a rocky island...” This is the advertising slogan on the Flechtingen Castle website. The castle offers an impressive view from the waterfront promenades.

          The gatehouse entrance, directly at the church, has been surrounded by a construction fence for years, and there are different opinions on the restoration of the facility, which I cannot assess at this point as to whether insolvency proceedings or bureaucratic regulations are affecting or stopping the restoration.
