The Hohenhörn high bridge spans the Kiel Canal. It is the tallest structure on the four-lane federal highway 23 between the federal highway 7 in Hamburg and the Schleswig-Holstein city of Heide.

It was built between 1984 and 1989 and is located in the municipality of Bornholt in the district of Rendsburg-Eckernförde and Schafstedt in the district of Dithmarschen. The construction is a one-piece steel superstructure with an accessible box-girder cross-section, which was built from 19 sections from the abutments using two auxiliary supports each and from the pillars in cantilevered cantilevering. The pillar height is 37.30 meters. The total bridge length is 390.50 meters, with a bridge width of 28 meters. The largest span is 180 meters and the carriageway height is 47.60 meters above the mean water level of the canal. The construction costs amounted to 40.5 million DM.

There is a parking lot at the eastern driveway to the bridge. From there, footpaths lead to a lookout point directly under the bridge, which offers a good view of the canal.
