Dalyan is a city on the Dalyan River just off the southwest coast of Turkey. Across the river are the ruins of the ancient city of Kaunos with Lycian rock tombs and the remains of a theatre. Riverboats connect Dalyan to İztuzu Beach to the south, which has protected breeding grounds for loggerhead sea turtles. In the northwest on the shore of Lake Köyceğiz is the village of Sultaniye, known for its thermal mud baths.
