In the direct catchment area of the Great Dhünn Dam numerous hiking trails invite you to discover. The tours have one thing in common: the relationship to water. Because Dhünn and Eifgenbach are a constant companion to the trails. Therefore, the hiking area is also called "Dhünnhochfläche - waterworks of the region". Here visitors can expect an impressive and varied landscape, which is characterized by a moving topography, large forest areas and open meadows. The award-winning long-distance hiking trails such as Bergische Panoramasteig and Bergische Weg also run along the dam. The former leads through the region on a total length of 246 kilometers. On the Bergisches Weg, visitors can hike from Essen to the Drachenfels. In addition, the rambles developed by the Bergische Wanderland are thematic priorities and, for example, pick up on historical or cultural aspects. The Vorsperrenweg as well as other routes of the Sauerland mountain association and the Wupperverband offer a wealth of information on the peculiarities of nature as well as unique views of the water.
