The train is very crowded and the view from above is a bit disappointing.

Brunate has 1,769 inhabitants and borders directly on the city of Como in Lombardy.
In a magnificent location at 500 meters above sea level, Brunate dominates the city of Como and Lake Como. Its altitude, strategically important in the past, made it a sought-after resort two centuries ago and its popularity remains high due to the beauty of the magnificent villas and flowering gardens.
Worth seeing in Brunate is the 17th century church of Sant’Andrea, restored in the 19th century and containing 18th century frescoes by Gian Paolo Recchi.

But numerous other places also offer a breathtaking view of the lakes and mountain landscape.
The historic cable car takes you from the city of Como to Brunate and from there there are beautiful mountain hiking routes.
