Sister City Cincinnati Gift
As part of the 2005 Federal Horticultural Show, Cincinnati is giving away to its sister city
Munich a Garden of Friendship in the new Riemer Park.
The approximately 1000 square meter garden represents a miniature landscape of the
nearby Cincinnati with its seven hills
The modeling of the ground is intended to resemble mounds of earth in the Cincinnati valley region
from past times were left by local Indians. The
The meandering footpath leading through the garden symbolizes the course of the river
of the Ohio. It is built of greenish colored asphalt, with inlaid
Shards of glass glistening in the sunlight and the surface of the Ohio River
imply. Small rocks and sand-lime walls refer to the dated
River exposed rocky slopes.
