Up on the Chasseral there is usually a fresh breeze, which in summer is pleasantly cool when you make the sweaty ascent (unfortunately over the road that is also frequented by many cars and motorbikes). The view quickly makes up for the hard work.
The descent over the Kulm is particularly pleasant, bike country for complete enjoyment, over meadows and farms.

To warm up, it's worth stopping at the Chasseral mountain restaurant. The service isn't particularly friendly, but you're protected from the wind and can put on dry clothes. The fondue is also very good!
Be careful, the mountain restaurant doesn't have drinking water in the toilet sinks. At least that's what it says. The staff won't refill your bidon either. So bring a second bidon with you if you don't want to buy expensive mineral water in the restaurant.
