The venerable monastery is very impressive, and there's something special about drinking a beer from the oldest (!) monastery brewery in the world. Getting accommodation at the St. Georg guesthouse is difficult, if not impossible. Instead, the Klostergasthof (monastery inn) located in the village is recommended.

Recommended before 9:30 a.m. Then the excursion boats come. Danube partly very shallow, therefore ideal for refreshing the legs 👍🏻. OrsCaution ⚠ strong current. Dangerous for bathing ❗

A must because of the boat trip through the Danube breakthrough. The monastery itself is also worth seeing and claims to be the oldest monastery brewery. However, mostly very crowded, so that you may have to queue for a place in the beer garden for a long time.

Only a few tourists in March and a picturesque place. The shipping hasn't started yet and the beer garden was still closed. A tour is worthwhile, especially the shady Way of the Cross with old trees up to the Frauenberg. From there you have a wonderful view. In the Frauenberg chapel, the interior is blocked off by a lattice. The chapel was restored in 1985. Nice Sunday outing at the beginning of March!

The monastery has many superlatives - founded around 600, since 1050 brewing rights, the oldest monastery in Bavaria. You can even stay overnight at the Gästehaus St. Georg if you ask in good time.

The Weltenburg Monastery is located at the entrance to the romantic Danube Gorge. It was made by the
Founded by Iro-Scottish-Columban wandering monks Eustasius and Agilus of Luxeuil (Burgundy) around the year 600, it is the oldest monastic settlement in Bavaria.
