The city park has been attractively extended by numerous installations, e.g. Toilets, climbing frames, playground etc.

In addition to the beautiful trees, a large, circular fountain invites you to linger.

The small saline is currently (7/2019) not available and is being rebuilt. But there is a water dispenser with salt water available (who likes it ...)

The Merziger Stadtpark in the heart of the district town offers a very large and diverse range of opportunities to linger and relax for a moment. When walking through the park, you will come across countless seating areas that are placed along the edge of the sidewalks and offer particularly beautiful views of the park. Another very special landmark of Merzig City Park is the huge water fountain in the fountain in the middle of the park.

The large, old trees provide shade and give the city park a very nice ambience. Many of the trees are several decades old. Special tree species such as the sequoia tree or the tulip tree make the park appear impressive and form a beautiful community together with the many large plant beds and lawns. The city park is also the ideal meeting place for children to run around, climb or even relax. Large, partly newly built play equipment allows the little ones to have an unforgettable day of fun in the city park. A special feature is the handicapped-accessible carousel, where children with and without disabilities can play together, as well as an inclusion swing. In order not to get enough of playing, the large mud area offers special fun for young and old.

So the city park impresses with its great tree population. I am particularly impressed by the mammoth trees! New is now a small planting of old apple varieties, a small sign of biodiversity. Maple, birch, oak and many varieties make the park really interesting from a botanical point of view.
