          Cap de Carteret - Chemin de ronde: Short (about 30 minutes) circuit around the Cap de Carteret, which includes some really spectacular panoramas. It starts at the free parking ("Parking & Aire de camping car Barneville-Carteret") in front of the lighthouse ("Phare de Carteret"). The lighthouse can also be visited at certain times, but not really worth it. But the viewing platform behind the lighthouse: Here you have a fantastic view of the cliffs, the sea (especially at low tide great) and the adjacent dune landscape ("Dunes d'Hatainville"). From there it goes down to the photogenic ruins "Vieille Eglise St. Germain de Carteret". Continue along the steep coast to the ruin "Le vieux fort". From there take the "Chemin des Douaniers" towards Carteret. Via the "Route des deux Plages" it goes back to the parking lot. Sturdy footwear is recommended, dogs must be on a leash and toddlers should be on hand.

            A magnificent coastal path runs along these cliffs. The path is part of the GR223. Be careful, this path is quite narrow in places and very steep. It feels like you're in the mountains.
