A beautiful spot with a lovely view across the canal toward the castle. On nice days, many people sit on the steps leading to the fountain, but you can always find a spot on the surrounding benches or fences.

The Hubertus Fountain is now located at the eastern end of the Nymphenburg Canal in Neuhausen, at the so-called Kessel. The canal begins in Pasing at a weir as a branch of the Würm and, among other things, feeds the water features in Nymphenburg Castle. It was created by Adolf von Hildebrand as a gift from the city of Munich to Prince Regent Luitpold on his 85th birthday. The fountain was initially built in front of the Bavarian National Museum in 1906 on Prinzregentenstrasse in the background of Luitpold's equestrian statue. In the inaccessible interior of the 7 by 6 meter complex there is an oval water basin, in the middle of which the base for the deer is placed and on the edge of the basin the 8 support columns for the vault are placed and are connected to the ceiling via round arches. Like the benches in the four niches, they are made of Ruhpolding marble.
