Dartmoor is well known for its iconic granite tors, topping innumerable hills and providing near-endless objectives for ramblers. Hikes up Haytor Rocks have a special hold over walkers though and it’s one of the national park’s most famous places.
Almost exclusively called Haytor, you’ll find this grassy hill at the south eastern edge of Dartmoor. Seen for miles around, the tor is topped with behemoth granite rocks which lend themselves very well to being scrambled up.

Prepare to be amazed by Haytor Rocks! The much-photographed landmark is even more impressive when you experience it first-hand. If you climb to the top, you can experience panoramic views across the moorland and, on a clear day, the view extends to the coast. Depending on when you visit, it is a great vantage point for sunrise and sunset.

In the late afternoon towards evening you are pretty much alone. Beautiful place to enjoy a sunset or to marvel at the stars. Here you have a 360 ° panoramic view.
