The westernmost point of Germany is on the coordinates 51 ° 03'04.4 "N 5 ° 52'00.9" E in the municipality of Selfkant and is one of the four "top locations" in Germany.

If you have a Point Pass, a visit here is an absolute must!

In the far west of Germany there is a community called Selfkant. And Selfkant is the westernmost place in the republic. Not only that, it is also the westernmost point of North Rhine-Westphalia.

This makes Selfkant one of the self-proclaimed Zipfelorten and participates in the Zipfelpass. The other three towns are List auf Sylt in the north, Görlitz in the east and Oberstdorf in the south of Germany. Anyone who visits and stays at all four localities over the course of four years will receive a stamp in their Zipfelpass. At the end you get a small gift basket with specialties from all four corners of Germany.

On the border to the Netherlands, a marking stone has been set up directly in front of the border sign, on which the westernmost point of Germany is written
