Beautiful pass road. First tunnel entrance of Tenda. Almost 50 hairpin bends dirt road (old asphalt first 25 returned). From 1300 to 1900 meters.

old road of Colle di Tenda, or the carriageway built around 1780 at the behest of the King of Sardinia Vittorio Amedeo III and practically abandoned after the opening of the road tunnel in 1882. However, the old road has always been viable, also because it is affected by the military traffic.

On August 31, 2025, we were not allowed to access the old pass because there are construction sites on the section before the tunnel, and therefore access is prohibited (an Anas officer is on duty to stop cyclists).
There is no end date specified, so check ahead before attempting this section.

It's only a few kilometers of construction, but they've closed the entire section.
