Auchnafree Hill rises above Loch Turret Reservoir, to the north of Criff and makes for an enjoyable adventure throughout the year. The summit is at 2,589 feet (789 m), and a popular starting point is the reservoir’s dam, which is already quite high, cutting your elevation gain substantially. The summit itself is a huge plateau and fairly friendly, making this a great summer walk for those taking their first forays into Scotland’s hiking scene.
