The curved roof of this beautiful and elegant tower is modeled on the wings of a crane. The wood for the tower (Douglas firs and larches) was felled in the Schorfheide-Chorin biosphere reserve.
From the viewing platform you have a wonderful view of the polder landscape, the Oder stream and the Oder slopes. The tower stands in the immediate vicinity of one of the ice guard houses that were built at regular intervals on the banks of the Oder.
