Built in 1917/18 by "Hirsch, Kupfer- & Messingwerke AG" to supply the industrial environment, the water tower is the landmark of the Finow valley. The inside of the tower can be visited with exhibitions on the history of Finow, how the water tower works and on the 300-year history of the Meessingwerk (with barrier-free access).

At a height of 44 meters you have a wonderful view over the Finowtal, on a clear day up to the Berlin TV tower.

In the adjacent settlement you can walk on the traces of industrial history (guided tour possible. Adults for €10, children from 6 years, pupils, students and apprentices for €3).

The tower is open between Easter and until after the autumn holidays on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (admission: adults for €5, children from the age of 6, pupils, students and apprentices for €2).

Built in 1917-18 to supply the local metal industry, this water tower, almost 50 meters high (to be precise: 48.6m), is now considered a landmark of the Finow Valley. The Gothic elements are stylistically remarkable. They make the building an architectural speciality.

On the informative and worth seeing website wasserturm-finow.de (with panoramic views and tilting views), it says: "The location of the water tower was chosen so that the reflection in the water basin, which was in the garden of Villa Hirsch, had an impressive effect."

The building houses a small museum. To enjoy the great view from almost the very top (from a height of 44m), you don't necessarily have to climb all 261 steps, but at least 40! - Admission for tours and/or climbing the tower is €5 for adults (as of October 2024) and is normally only possible on weekends + public holidays in the high season (Easter to autumn holidays). Special appointments can be arranged.
