The dragon's head (official name) hasn't been around for that long. Only since 2013. He witnessed a huge rock fall. The boulder is made of Nagelfluh (Wulp gravel).

The boulder has been there for 20,000 years. His journey on the back of the Linth glacier was likely to have taken around 400 years - with daily stages of 50 centimeters - until he had moved from Hausstock in Glarus to Küsnacht. Since then he has stood there unmoved. The ravine of the brook, which had eaten its way through the moraine from the Guldenen, was a wilderness from the Tobelmühle down to the village, a mess of water, stones and plants. It was not until the Bach correction from 1895 to 1900 and the bridge-rich hiking trail of the Beautification Association opened this rampant swath of calm. It was called "Wöschhüüsli-Stein" because of its size and shape - until the geologist Alexander Wettstein (1861-1887) got to the bottom of the riddles of the Küsnacht soils.
