Port Goury: Very small but picturesque harbor near the Cap. The harbor, which is completely dry at low tide, is a perfect starting point for hikes in the area. Parking is plentiful and free. If you look around the area, you understand why the area is also called "Little Ireland".

Tidal beach with pebbles that falls dry at low tide and looks like a cute perfect half-circle at high tide; but it is near the dangerous tidal Alderney Race current (in French: Raz Blanchard) that can run up to about 12 knots (22 km/h). The power of the current comes from the narrowness of the strait and from the fact that there is a two-metre tidal height difference between Carteret and La Hague as well as between la Hague and Cherbourg.
