For two euros, ferryman Maik Slotta will take you across. It's a nice shortcut between Ranzig and Leißnitz.

The ferry operates from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in April, May, September, and October, and an hour longer on weekends and public holidays. From June to August, it operates from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., also an hour longer on weekends and public holidays. The snack bar is closed on Mondays.

Just for information, this cable ferry was in operation in Eisenhüttenstadt, district of Fürstenberg until the 1990s. Then the bridge, destroyed in the war, was rebuilt and the cable ferry became redundant. She then came to Leißnitz!

The crossing over the Spree on Brandenburg's only hand-operated passenger ferry takes around four minutes. It is located at the exit of Lake Leißnitz and connects the towns of Leißnitz and Ranzig. The ferry runs from April to October. There will be no crossing during thunderstorms, rain, storms and fog.
