St. Mauritz is the oldest partially original sacred building in Münster.
It is in the west of the Mauritz district, just outside the inner city ring road, on Sankt-Mauritz-Freiheit.
The Catholic Church of St. Mauritz in Münster, an elongated structure made of quarry stone, is made up of components from different eras: the neo-Romanesque basilica has a late Gothic chancel between Romanesque choir flank towers and a Romanesque west tower with a late Romanesque porch in front, the so-called Erpho- Chapel. However, the history of the building has not been fully elucidated.

The Catholic collegiate and parish church of St. Mauritz is the oldest partially preserved sacred building in Münster. Investigations of the two Romanesque east towers suggest that the church was built around 1064 or shortly thereafter.
