The Oswald Cave is a karst cave on the Hollow Mountain, about 800 meters east of Muggendorf, a district of the Upper Franconian market town Wiesenttal in the district of Forchheim in Bavaria.

Definitely worth seeing through cave with partly only 1.5m high. You should definitely have a flashlight with you to safely find the 15m long passage through the Oswaldhöle. An exciting "G`schicht" not only for children.

The trail leads through and / or over the cave. The deepest ceiling point is 1.60 m. Flashlight is an advantage (caution head), also because you can see the eagle (drawing in the cave). If you can still "buggn", you can get through this "tunnel". Possibly a bit slippery when wet, otherwise not demanding but just something special because of the continuous hiking trail.

This is the most impressive cave so far that I have seen in Fr. Switzerland (ignoring the well-known stalactite caves).
The fascinating thing is that the official hiking trail goes right through the cave. So take a flashlight with you when planning the tour to avoid tripping or slipping!

The only through cave in Franconian Switzerland that can be crossed without equipment. A little adventure for young and old. Hiking trails lead directly through (there is also a signposted bypass)
