The 15 m high and 200 m long dam, which dams up the Nassauer Bach, was built in 1970 by the Wasserverband Kaiserstrasse in Niederstetten for flood protection. The lake also serves recreation. "Bathing, boating and camping" are prohibited according to the signage.
Surrounded by trees and bushes and idyllically situated lake, there is a circular path for walking, hiking and cycling. Picnic benches and barbecue areas are available. Part of the lake is protected (spawning zone for fish)

Mostly no human in the area. Absolutely beautiful, you can spend some quiet hours here. Barbecue is also available directly and can be booked.
