While the tower of the parish church of St. Columban dates back to 1593, as the inscription still visible today attests, the nave was built only around 100 years ago according to plans by the architect Joseph Cades in the neo-Gothic style. The old Columban Church could no longer accommodate the growing number of believers and residents who came to the Neckar Valley as a result of industrialization. Therefore, in 1898, a church building association was founded to finance a new church. Demolition work began on March 3, 1910. Just six months later, on November 17, 1910, the new Columban Church was consecrated by Bishop Paul Wilhelm von Keppler. The tower of the old church remained, and a new, three-aisled structure was added to it. The old tower was only later, in 1948, adapted to the new dimensions of the church and raised by one story to 33 meters.

In 1490, a chapel was built on the site of the current church in the village, which was expanded to become St. Columban's Church in 1593. It was not until 1910 that this - except for the tower - had to make way for a new building.
