Just next is the Nick Dudiak Fishing Lagoon (aka The Fishing Hole), a popular park with both locals and visitors. The lagoon is stocked with Silver (coho) and King (chinook) Salmon to provide sport fishing, with a handicapped accessible platform and ramp. King salmon return mid May to early July followed by an early run of Silvers mid July to early August and a late run early August to mid September. Fish cleaning tables, restroom facilities, and a small picnic area are also provided. Check in with Alaska Department of Fish & Game as the current regulations change throughout the season.
The Fishing Lagoon is directly adjacent to the Fishing Hole Campground, with 10 sites directly on the banks of the lagoon cityofhomer-ak.gov/recreation/fishing-lagoon
