Built in 1873, this gorgeous lighthouse no longer shines but it's still a magnificent find when you're walking in the area. Painted bright white, it shares its tapered architecture with Anglesey windmills, and has a conical roof. The lighthouse guards the outer entrance to the Menai Strait, sitting at the southern tip of Llanddwyn Island.

Area is great with its small paths around. Would recommend the main route going and checking out the ruins at the same time.

Its possible to park (FOC) on the outskirts of a large woodland and walk to the lighthouse. There are multiple paths, most great for cycling, though that does leave you with planning where to leave them when you get to the headland, then the lighthouse. Its worth taking your swimming gear as there are several smaller beaches and coves quite easily accessible on the walk to the lighthouse. Allow 3- 4hrs if walking via the woods and having a picnic, more if you want a swim. Having been twice, I am still keen to visit again.
