The Main Yarra Trail is one of Melbourne’s most popular shared paths, following the Yarra River through parks, bushland, and city neighbourhoods. Stretching for more than 30 km, the trail links the CBD with Melbourne’s eastern suburbs and offers a mix of riverside scenery, urban views, and leafy parkland. Much of the path runs close to the water, passing rowing clubs, wetlands, and quiet picnic spots along the riverbanks. It’s mostly sealed and relatively level, making it popular with walkers, runners, and cyclists exploring different sections of the Yarra corridor.
