On December 6, 1910, the Gladbeck office building, today's town hall, was inaugurated.

The building was designed by the Cologne architect Otto Müller-Jena.

The town hall was later extended to include the east and west wings and the south side.

The tower with the clock tower rises 45 meters into the air. Next to the clock tower, you can see a figure representing the tower guard with a horn and lantern.

The architect and artist wanted to remind people that in the Middle Ages, towns were guarded by a watchman from the tower room.

This relief was created by the Cologne sculptor Karl von Mehring.

The leaded glass windows of the council chamber are impressive. These represent, among other things, various professions that are typical of the development history of the town of Gladbeck.

These include, for example, the professions of a bricklayer, a merchant, a farmer and a miner. Distinctive buildings from the townscape can also be found there. The Essen stained glass artist Wilhelm de Graaff created these windows in 1954.
