This stretch remains at high-alpine altitude for an extended period, linking Rifugio Eita to Val Grosina and including the rugged crossing of Passo di Verva. It’s a committing section where the mountains feel vast and uncompromising.
Resupply opportunities are limited, water sources can be scarce, and weather conditions may shift dramatically without warning. Proper preparation is essential. The gradients are steep, with frequent and often prolonged hike-a-bike sections that demand both physical and mental resilience. Few areas feel as remote and exposed as this one.
Move deliberately, respect the terrain, and never underestimate the power of the mountains here.
