There are exactly 140 steps that lead up. Each one has been sold for a good cause and bears a plaque with the sponsor's name on it. The tower itself is 43 meters high, with the viewing platform at a height of 28 meters. From there you have a magnificent view of the surroundings of the Kaiserstuhl.

The Eichelspitzturm is a 42.5 meter high observation tower, which was built jointly by the mobile operator O2, the neighboring communities Eichstetten, Bötzingen, Bahlingen and Vogtsburg im Kaiserstuhl, the association "Eichelspitzturm e.V.", and the state of Baden-Württemberg in 2006. The tower is named after the Eichelspitze, the second highest elevation of the Kaiserstuhl.

From the viewing platform at a height of 28 meters you have a comprehensive view of the Black Forest, the Vosges and the Kaiserstuhl itself. [1] The tower can be reached from Eichstetten via the Geo-Path, a nature trail that deals with the types of rock in the Kaiserstuhl. [2]

A surveying scaffold originally stood here. This was replaced in 2001 by a temporary tower with a viewing platform at a height of 27 m. This was very well received by hikers, so that the idea for the Eichelspitzturm came up and was implemented. [1]

The Förderverein Eichelspitzturm covered part of the construction costs with the support of donors. Each donor's name was immortalized with a plaque on the step.
