In honor of the Guelphs: the prince monument in Langenrehm, in the municipality of Rosengarten, commemorates the three Guelph princes of the electoral-royal family who ruled Braunschweig-Lüneburg from 1235 and the Hanover region between 1705 and 1866.

The 8 meter high prince monument made of granite was erected in 1911 in honor of the last King of Guelph Georg V (King of Hanover). It is also reminiscent of
Ernst August - Duke of Cumberland and Duke of Braunschweig and Lüneburg and
and Ernst August-Herzog zu Braunschweig and Lüneburg.

For me, an absolute hiking highlight in the area. As if from a Stargate film, this large pyramid looks very unreal in the landscape, plus there is an interesting German story on top. Including benches for resting and a wastebasket for resting. Great.

The prince monument Langerehm is located in the district of Harburg on the K26 between the towns of Langenrehm and Sieversen. In Langenrehm, where the Heidschnuckenweg intersects with the K26, it is about 400 m to the left in the direction of Sieversen.

In the truest sense of the word, the monument is of outstanding importance for Welf history in the district of Harburg and in the entire Lower Elbe region. It was built by Heinrich Seckerdieck, a Langensalza fighter (German civil war June 27, 1866) on the initiative of the Hanover Club Harburg in 1876. The club disbanded in the late 1970s. An association was founded on April 29, 2011 to preserve and restore the monument.

A unique monument dedicated to the Welfs of Hanover and their "special friendship" with Prussia. Just linger in this extraordinary place and put yourself back in time around the 19th century.

Suddenly appeared in front of us when it was already dark without us knowing about it. Was an experience!

The Princes' Monument is a monument dedicated to the last king of the Kingdom of Hanover, which was quickly built in 1911 and, as a counter-monument to the former Bismarck Tower on the Kiekeberg, indicates the animosity with Prussia. It commemorates the three Welf princes of the electoral-royal family who ruled in Braunschweig-Lüneburg from 1235 and the Hanover region between 1705 and 1866. The small tetrahedron made of granite stones is 8m high.

This princely monument proves two facts. Firstly, that it has always been the custom for Germans to despise each other, in this case the Hanoverians and the Prussians, and secondly, when someone says something, there are plenty of people who incorrigibly believe exactly that.
Because someone once said that the last king of the Kingdom of Hanover is buried there, which is clearly complete nonsense.
No one is buried there, even though there is a stone with the name of George V of Hanover, which looks very similar to a gravestone. No one is buried there and King George V, the last King of Hanover, was buried in Great Britain because at that time the King of Hanover was also the King of England in personal union.
