From the Neolithic Age around 5500 years ago

The Emsen megalithic tomb (also known as the Langenrehm or The High Stone) is a stone grave between 3500 and 2800 BC. B.C. Megalithic burial complex of the Neolithic Funnel Beaker Culture (TBK) near Emsen, a district of the municipality of Rosengarten in the district of Harburg, Lower Saxony. It bears the Sprockhoff number 672.

The grave is located near the eastern end of the Langenrehm district of Emsen, in the middle of a row of trees on the edge of a field.
The plant has a flat, round mound. It contains the remains of the northwest-southeast oriented burial chamber. In 1934 Willi Wegewitz carried out an excavation here. The north-west end stone and five wall stones of the north-east long side are still in situ. On the south-west long side, this capstone rests on another completely overturned wall stone. More stones lie outside the chamber. Sprockhoff suspected that they belonged to a corridor and assumed that the facility was to be regarded as a Holstein chamber.

He was able to prove uses of the TBK and subsequent uses of the Corded Ware as well as from the early Bronze Age.

The tomb has been almost destroyed in the past, as well as some others. On the capstone are clear traces of splitting tools from the modern era to see. The missing stones have probably been installed somewhere

Very interesting table and large stone grave (over 5500 years old) in a nice location on the field.

Small stone age grave near the Heidschnuckenweg. The 100m off the tour is worthwhile if you are interested in archeology.

A look into old history, interesting.

Here are a few impressions from me of what awaits you at the site. Nothing awaits you from the grave itself, actually. After around 6,000 years, nothing remains of the grave except the boulders. And even the boulders have been incomplete for some time – it is said that many of the stones were used to build the Jesteburg church. The grave also no longer has its original dimensions; it was probably considerably larger when it was first dug. There are also no human remains in the grave, although apparently a great many people were buried there, just like in a cemetery. A plaque with some information awaits you; otherwise, you would consider the boulders to be just ordinary stones without any significance. Oh yes, next door is the Rosengarten radio tower – there was a bit more to see there, at least for me, even if it was more of a technical nature.
