A look at the Mont Blanc of Chamonix is already worth a few drops of sweat, which you probably can not help shedding with the racing bike, if you want to get there - whether from the east over the Col Forclaz and Montets or from the west from Marlioz. Even though the summit should be in clouds, the Mer de Glace, which ends just above the town, is already very impressive. On a longer tour you can of course in Chamonix provide plenty of provisions or drinks, the place is quite tourist :-).
